Brid 0 Skelmersdale 4 (h)

Another game and by all accounts, another good display that doesn’t do the scoreline justice.

I couldn’t attend due to some very pressing, personal matters. It is at times like this that you realise that football is just an enjoyment factor and that there are other things (or people) that are hugely more important for whom we all take for granted from time to time.

As cryptic as that is, I won’t elaborate much more, after all this is a football forum.

I did get to the Scarborough v Hall Road Rangers game at Queensgate last week to see a few of our old favourites play for HR, messrs Thacker Palmer and Barnwell. The visitors started brightly with Palmer lobbing the boro keeper for an early goal. There was an impressive 386 or so for the game, but for the most of the 1st half were well mooted by the lack of spirit with in the home team. Boro did equalise just after half time if my poor memory serves me right. After Palmers goal, I felt the the old Brid guard pretty much died with their contribution to the game. Having those three in an attacking force for a team at this level, HRR should be pissing this league, but they seemed very ineffectual.

Boro came out with a worthy  3-1 win, probably having a serious bollocking at half time by their boss, Brian France, did the trick, for the second game running.

I hope the casino night in the clubhouse was a success, also a belated 50th birthday greeting to Turnstile man for last week, well done fella.
